SITE INSPECTION BY STAKEHOLDERS
This program is being funded by the World Bank in Developing Countries and in Ghana only twenty-five (25) MMDAs are benefiting from this programme and Abuakwa South Municipality is one of such Assemblies. Under the programme beneficiary Assemblies are to receive not less than USD 500,000.00 for specific projects and programs..
The areas in which the funds could be utilized were as follows;
Urban Development Grant (UDG)
Waste Management: Acquisition of Waste Collection Trucks, Cesspit Emptier etc.
Connectivity: urban roads, walk ways etc.
Urban, Social and Economic Infrastructure: Urban Parks, Greenery etc.
Disaster Management: Fire Control, Firefighting equipment etc.
Capacity Support Grant
This fund is to be used to organize training in the above areas for staff and purchase office equipment for official use. E.g. photocopiers, scanners, computers etc.
Utilization of Capacity Support Grant for ASMA First Year
Preparation of an LED plan
Automated Billing system
Disaster management capacity building workshop
Procurement of a GPS
Utilization of Urban Development Grant for ASMA
• Lot 1: Construction of Access Roads and Internal Infrastructure Facilities at Greenery Site at Kibi.
• Lot 2: Construction of 3-storey 44 Room Hostel, Auditorium and Restaurant and Swimming Pool at the greenery site.
• Lot 3: Construction of 300 seating capacity Auditorium, Restaurant and Swimming Pool at Greenery Site at Kibi.
These projects are ongoing. There is also a proposed Vehicular Terminal Project to be sited at Apedwa under the UDG for next year.
